Ghost Magnet Roach Motel  (GMRM) is a multidisciplinary group of artists from San Diego and Tijuana that create real-time mixed-media visual-sonic interventions. The interrelation of their various methodologies and aesthetic foundations come together to inform an auditory manifestation immersed in the memory “ghost” of the space, revealing human desire to connections and disconnections “magnet” speaking to the “roach”-ness of humanity, while creating a temporal performative “motel”—space where their audience can freely interact. GMRM was originally formed in 2005 and has performed at various places in Tijuana including Transmedios (2009), Casa de la Cultura (2009), and Instituto de Cultural de Baja California (2010).
